People Can’t Hold Back Their Tears Watching This £50 Budget Christmas Ad

Christmas ads have become a part of the culture in the UK. Each year certain businesses come out with ever more complex and expensive productions that people eagerly await, to talk over with their families and be inspired by.

There seems to have been a certain backlash just lately, however. Some people think that something is not right when a company can lavish millions of dollars on a celebrity-studded ad, while regular folk are struggling to make ends meet. This simple, yet incredibly powerful production by Phil Beastall has gone viral because of its human message, showing that Christmas isn’t about flashy corporatism but family, and the best Christmas present is something truly meaningful.
The video cost less than $100 to make and was originally shared by Phil on his local noticeboard. It’s titled ‘Love Is A Gift’ and is almost guaranteed to make you cry, so don’t forget your tissues!

“Off the back of the John Lewis Christmas advert I wanted to share my very own Christmas film which I made back in 2014” – Phil Beastall said

“It’s a short film about a man counting down the days to Christmas so he can continue his yearly tradition sparked by a tragic moment from the past”

The story in this video is truly touching

Overwhelmed by the response Phil Beastall posted a “thank you” video

People we really moved by the short film
